Cre’lus: Honestly, that sort of gamer is nothing new. When EarthBound was released, that exact same sort of thing was a problem – everyone was so focused on realism and gore and blood. I think this “it’s not good if if it’s not realistic and gory” thing will always exist as the mainstream.

Well my brother here got me into EarthBound.
In fact he’s a poster here.
Furthermore, EarthBound has been my faviorite game ever since.
Then I played Mato’s MOTHER 3 translation, MOTHER 3 became my faviorite game.
I have tried to get my friends into EarthBound, no such luck.
When you mention video games in front of them the first thing that pops up is Call Of Duty.

I can’t help but feel a lot of next-gen gamers of today (those who play MW3 and CoD) can’t appreciate a good game anymore. While I was playing through both EarthBound and MOTHER 3, my brother simply called it “gay” and never gave it a chance. Now, he’s plaing MW3 on a computer with a GTX-580 graphics card. I hate this new generation of gamers, where how good a game is is dependent on whether or not violence is portrayed in the most grotesquely realistic manner possible and if there is blood and gore encompassing every nook and cranny of a dark room. I bet half of the gamers in the US don’t even know what an NES is!!
It sucks.. it really sucks.

@RadicOmega With me, it was EarthBound, MOTHER 3, MOTHER. The order I beat them in was MOTHER 3, MOTHER, EarthBound. I actully beat MOTHER quite quickly, took me about 3 days. I did enjoy it quite a bit, though, so thats good. And MOTHER 3… I didn’t really like until the second playthrough. I was constantly losing and grinding for hours on the first playthrough, but on the second playthrough I had no trouble whatsoever and didn’t grind. You know how that works.

@Loidrage, yeah seriously, I remember who I got into EarthBound, although, Earthbound was the first Mother game I played. The next one was MOTHER, than I finnaly played Mother 3

@RadicOmega Yeah, I really am biased towards MOTHER 3. Without MOTHER 3/ His Highness’ Theme, I’d probably never have played a MOTHER game. Its kinda like how a lot of people like EarthBound because its the first MOTHER game they played, I like MOTHER 3 because it got me interested in the series.

Sorry I’m a comment behind but on that Earthbound thing, I really can’t decide if Mother 3 is better than EarthBound, really Mother 3 seems to be winning right now though
