I’m told I’m a pretty sick and twisted individual.
But I haven’t eaten from the trash…yet.
JERRY: So lemme get this straight: you find yourself in the kitchen. You see an éclair, in the receptacle. And you think to yourself, “What the hell, I’ll just eat some trash.”
GEORGE: No, no. No, no, no. It was not trash!
JERRY: Was it in the trash?
GEORGE: Yes.
JERRY: Then it was trash.
As far as I know, stuff that’s in a box in the trash is still okay to eat.
I don’t remember doing it, but, knowing myself, I probably have. It was in the wrapper, though, I’m sure of that.
Sort of. It was an apple, uncut, I pulled it out mere milliseconds later and washed it off.
So…technically yes.
You can’t wash off hamburgers, though…
yes…. yes i have.
I dont evene remember what, but i remember doing it lol.
One time somebody threw away a half-empty (half full!) bag of really good potato chips at work. The chips didn’t touch the garbage, so I took it out.
I dunno why anybody threw the bag away. Everybody was eating out of it all day. We always have communal food in the break room.
Somebody was being a spiteful crow that day.
I probably did at some point in time; though I don’t remember what. One thing’s for sure, I would only ever take anything out of the trash can in my house. Who knows what other people might be throwing away.
My dad ate out of the dog’s bowl once…
He put week old left over turkey from thanksgiving in the dog’s bowl. And he was teasing the dog by pretending to eat it… then he actually started eating it and when he realized what he was doing he dropped the bowl… His face was priceless…

Yes, actually. In the 5th grade I sed to be the one who acted out to gain the attention and affection of my fellow students, and one of the many things I did was eat out of the trash can.
I’ll eat most things in a garbage can, but it depends on what’s in there/ what the food is contained in.

I basicly did the same thing Spitball Sparky did, except it was at school (not the school I went to though…).
Yes, but it was still sealed in plastic and right on top. My sister throws away things for stupid reasons sometimes.
hey, it wasn’t opened yet, and it was a cadburry cream egg. besides, the trash only had peeps in it anyway
I was actually homeless for a while, and it was kind of necessity. I didn’t exactly go digging around, but it’d pull something off the top.
There are some people at my workplace who will throw out a pizza or a trayful of chicken curry because it has been in the fridge (in a covered container) for two days.
I’ll let you figure out what happened.
Yes, if I were really low on HP.
But I probably won’t drink that can of fruit juice.
It was pizza, I was hungry. My mind said “No”, but my stomach said “What the Hell! I’m starving!”
I’m weak (Especially when it comes to food)…

Probably.
I actually have. Well, it wss still in the wrapper, but food out of the trask is still food out of the trash.
was unwrapping a sandwich of mine, half of it fell in the trash, at first I wasn’t going to go for it, but when I looked in I noticed that it hadn’t fallen on anything gross, just like, a plastic bag from one of our book sales (I work at a bookstore and was in the break room at the time) so I thought “oh what the hell” and just went in and got it, it was still clean and it tasted fine.
so yes, I’ve eaten a trash sandwich.
No, but I have taken a book out of a parking lot trash can. Of course, Earthbound was the first thing that I thought of when I did it.
Dumpster diving is a way of life.
Grocery store dumpsters are usually full of perfectly good food, cause they throw it out exactly on the expiration date. So yes, quite a bit actually.
I’ve been on the verge of being homeless before, and when you have no money, and theres a dumpster near you, you learn to overcome the other very repulsive idea of eating food from it.
I did this for most of the 4th grade. We had this guy vist our school and talk to us about recycling. Since I was a dumb little kid, I took the guy too seriously and started taking paper out of the trash can in the class room and puting it in the recycle bin. Then people were allowed to take two juice boxes during lunch, but they never drank them and ended up throwing them out when they reached the class room. So I pretty much got free juice and the ocassional candybar for a year, plus I had a feast when it was ice pop day.
YEP
when i was in kindergarten a teacher throw a chocolate cuppy cake by accident on the trash can
so…
i grabed it and then i ate it. lol

Probably, but some time ago. I can’s really remember what, either.

b-but tomato, the trash has COOTIES
Only if candy wrappers count as food.
I was little… and it SMELLED like candy…
I can see I’m not the only one who had Seinfeld come to mind when I read this.
No, I can’t say I’ve ever eaten out of a trash can, nor can I imagin I ever would…
…unless its above the rim…

I once drank something that was left on top of a urinal in a bar.
Thankfully I didn’t get roofie’d… Or cholera.
Actually I have before.I dropped a brand new herseys bar in the trash and dug it back out and ate it. XD
Oh yeah. You know, you drop something in there accidently and you’re like, “CRAP” and you dig it back out.
I used to work at Chuck E. Cheese’s where I would work 6+ hour shifts usually without a food break of any kind. You’d be surprised at how much pizza some guests will leave behind at their table. Now we’re told not to eat that pizza, but, well I’ve gotten pretty hungry before.
Long story short, I’ve never eaten an entire slice out the trash, but let’s just say even a few pepperoni bits go a long way!

Sweet, new theme!
Found my bag of chips in the garbage once, thought they had fallen off the fridge and into the trahs so I ate them, roommate came home and asked me if I ate ate the chips which I replied of course.. then I find out while I was out my chips had indeed fallen off the fridge b ut before they could be picked up my roomate noticed a mouse kicking around in it. Needless to say I shocked.. and have never eaten food that has been in the trash weather it feel in there or not again.
There were three doughnuts left in a box of dozen. They weren’t stale or anything, and there wasn’t much trash on top of the doughnut box, so I figured “What the hell?”
I probably should have read the comments before voting, since Flit’s post made me realize that, yes, I have eaten food from the garbage. One wrong vote here.
Well, My 1st time was when I was 5 years old… It started like this. I was in Burger King in my birthday party playing, That was also the 1st time I ate a hamburger, The hamburger was so delicious that I wanted to have more. I saw a friend trashing a hamburger… so I ate it. The flavor was nice, i think food is nicer in the trash. Lol.
Now…. Something is missing here! I think the regular comentor IWontGetOverTheDam fed up of this.

I once lost my retainer in a Burger King restaurant. My guardians spent half an hour searching through trash with me to find it. While searching, I found someone had a perfectly sealed package of fries. I snuck it in the car on the way back home after my retainer was found, and after examining the fries at home, they looked fine! Maybe someone didn’t want fries? it was in a Burger King bag, by the way. And as silly as it was, my young self (oh, that was years ago!) decided to heat it up and munch on it. Of course I had a ketchup packet, so I gained some extra health. :3
Yup, I have! And I’ve eaten floor food, too! Of course, in both cases, I only eat it if it’s clean. I mean, if a slice of cake falls on the ground and doesn’t roll, there no harm in eating the top 80%, which hasn’t touched the ground, right? Apparently, other people don’t feel the same way.
All those who voted “Nope” are liars and thieves.
Who kick puppies.
Wild accusations are fun!
I have, but the guy threw it away, unopened, less than a minute before I took it out.
Dumpster diving should be a job. Your pay? Whatever you find of course!
I’ve came really close before, but nope.
…I mean, someone dumped an entire plate of fries! Untouched, unstained fries!
I’m guessing food that fell on the floor count, as it’s almost as bad?
I probably did that a couple times as a kid.
Yeah, my mom threw out a thing of perfectly good egg rolls once. They were in the trash for a while before I found out but…
I ate them anyway.
They were goooood.
Though I felt bad the next day. All in all? Totally worth it.
I ate a chocolate bar from the garbage bin at my work….they throw away all the stuff thats expired (obviously) but it was sitting right on top and it was a Lindt with hazelnuts, still had the wrapper on and everything, sitting there waiting for somebody to eat it
Honestly, who could pass that up?
A few months ago my mom threw out my brothers half eaten birthday cake. When no one was looking I snuck it out and ate it right over the trash. Plus once my roommate threw out my container of chinese food so I dug to the bottom of the bag and grabbed it out. Food never tasted so good!
My sister threw out a bag of popcorn. It hadn’t been touched and was on the top. She said it was burn’t popcorn, and it was, I had some.
Honestly, i’ve done this. I still do this. Whenever my friends and I go to the movie theater, we fish out a large popcorn bucket and large soda cup. The reason being is that our theater does refills on large sized stuff.
Of course, we go to the bathroom and clean out the cup. Not a whole lot you can do with the popcorn bucket though.
OH yeah you know how shit is, just everyone has done everything I have done in here so no point repeating them lol but its a definite yes.
I actually ate a cupcake out of the trash once. It landed on a napkin, but yeah.
lets just say, kids threw away alot of good food in elementary school……….
is this bad?
Yes. One day my friend came over, and when he went to bed, I was just STARVING! Luckily for me we had pizza, and I… went in the trash and ate the half eaten piece of pizza lying there. Thank God it was on a paper plate, or else it could have been pretty gross.
In all honesty I dumped my head into the trash can and began chomping on cabbage, gross….

Okay, just today, as I was making my lunch, I wanted to have pumpkin peeps with my lunch, but my parents threw the rest out, so… I had to dig through the trash so I could eat them at break XD
I found a completely unbitten hamburger in its plastic case once. The rest, as they say, is history.

Oh yeah, a cherry lollipop. I love lollipops…..That time I unwrapped it and I accidentally drop it in the garbage can at school. There wasn´t anyone around, sooo…
Yes, my mother once threw out an almost complete. boxed pizza. And the pizza itself hadn’t touched the trash.
The pizza ended there.
Yes once kinda i was eating yogrt and i acedently there the case in the trash with the spoon in it so i diged it out and contnued to lick the case.
I hope I haven’t.
However, I ate food off the ground as a kid, so I just might have eaten food out of the trash once or twice.
I’ve eaten food that fell on the ground, but not out of the garbage…..
(BUT….. In school, many kids threw out INTACT FOOD, but I’ve never been tempted….

Some one else said earlier but…………. if it just got thrown out, and it’s still the wrapper, then yes, I ate it.
But only if I was the one that threw it in the trash on the first place.

Only assuming that accidentally throwing something that’s still in its packaging and taking it out five minutes later counts.
