Alright! It’s the 22nd week since EarthBound Central opened! Amazing that there’s been enough to keep it going for so long

I always have tons of ideas to add cool stuff to this site, but I lack the time. Anybody willing to part with a few million dollars so I can focus on this fun stuff?

Anyway, let’s have a look-see at what’s transpired this past week!

Site News

• Jeff and I have been working on version 1.1 of the MOTHER 3 translation patch. It’s mostly done, I just need to make a patch and then have it tested. It should be out in a week or two. I’ll give details later.
• Because I spent time working on the above, the MOTHER 1+2 stuff hasn’t progressed this past week. Ideally, I’d like to have SOMETHING ready for MOTHER 1′s 20th year anniversary in July, but I’m definitely not making any promises. I’ve been slacking on this project a lot
• I updated the EarthBound merchandise listings a tiny bit, now it’ll also display the little mini-description for an item if a seller has included one. Nothing much, but it’s a neat addition at least. I really don’t like how those pages are laid out though, I gotta figure a better way to present them someday.

• Europe gets Super Smash Bros. on the Virtual Console!

Cool Auctions & Merchandise

This week had an explosion of EarthBound merchandise – for a short time it even rose above the 200 mark, which it had never done since this site started. In fact, it used to average about 130 a day earlier this year, now it’s much higher. Has something happened to cause this?

Anyway, tons of EarthBound carts, a few Mr. Saturn plushies, and a bunch of other neat things showed up this week, here are just a few below.

• I noticed that the lowest price for EarthBound on Amazon has increased a lot. It often hung around the $80 mark until recently.

• I’m lame and didn’t keep notes this week. Nothing of real importance happened or was mentioned. I’d remember at least something if there was something especially interesting. I’ll make sure to take notes this next week though.

Upcoming Stuff

Got some more neat handmade stuff to show off this next week, plus some kind of video contest, some more ROID/The Another World stuff (the recent EarthBound lookalike game), some desktop/app customization stuff, and more. Looks like this next week will be plentiful

Geez, this past week zoomed right by, dakota. Speaking of which, I remember when “Dakota” was a mystery to most fans, and they had no idea why Mr. Saturn said it in the MOTHER 1+2 commercials. But now it’s almost like an overused meme. Oh well. Welcome to the world of Dakota 3.
