He forgot about his son then put him into inventions that could have EASILY killed him. He's a needle to the heart that he recognizes Ness, and thinks nothing of his own son. He doesn't even WANT to know him, as implied from the “Let’s meet up again in a few years.” Pokey's dad is abusive, but he cared something about his kids to beat them in the first place AFTER THEY LEFT THE HOUSE WITHOUT PERMISSION!
