This is pretty old by now, but it’s still neat and EarthBound-ish 
Apparently there are people who build spider mechs for fun. They’re not EarthBound fans (I don’t think), they’re just crazy. Anyway, check this one out:
Now all we need is someone to figure out how to rip out people’s souls and stick them into robots. That, or how to do genetic engineering to create life-size Mr. Saturns, but I think they’d freak the crap out of me in real life now that I think about it.

Spider mechs: The future of transportation.
Although one may think wheels are more efficeint, walking around on 8 metal legs has that epic intimidation factor. Seriously, this is awesome.

Wow…but that looks REALLY jerky to ride in though. If these things replaced cars, I would never leave the house and never look outside. Imagine tons of these things going 60 mph on the highway… O_O

!!!! I had no idea that functional spider mechs were even possible for a hobbyist to build. My mind is blown. And now I feel even deeper twinges of crippling disappointment that Earthbound is not being made into a live action movie. I don’t care what anyone says, I want one.

but I think the spider mechs might make a neat all-terain vehicle… if they made all the legs analog like a real spder…
