Finished the trilogy last weekend...started Sirens of Titan already, and it's good to be reading more Vonnegut.

The trilogy was very, very good, but also about as sad as you can get in that time period without delving directly into the Holocaust (although it's in there). By now though, there's a set expectation for that sort of sadness with any book about WWII.

Long and short, if anyone else comes back to this post, read the trilogy. When it's all in one cheap book, there's no excuse!

Yep, that's the plan. My copy should arrive this week, and then I'll do a little write up or something. I wonder if any books helped inspire Mother 1.

My copy from Amazon arrived yesterday (with the MOTHER 3 handbook, coincidentally)...just read the first book in one sitting, and yes it is definitely for a mature audience, but I can see a lot of the game in there already and can't wait to read the other two books.

So, is The Sirens of Titan going to be the next stop for the EB-MBC (EarthBound-Mother Book Club) ?

I dunno... this is a nice write up, but the real link between Mother 3 and these books is in the last one, the "The Third Lie". The family in that book is very similar to the family in M3... but... I guess I shouldn't ruin it...

I read this while playing through MOTHER 3 for the first time when I got my R4(which was roughly a month after the patch came out). It's a really good trilogy. I agree that the first book is the best :D

Read it while back. Good stuff, but if it's like EB, it's only in a twisted way. It's interesting how Itoi was inspired by this and to see his product by comparison.
